Avison Young’s Jason Sibthorpe to chair the next Property Director’s Forum with a focus on AI and workplaces

The next Property Directors Forum (PDF) event will be held on the 7th June 2018 at the prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry at Burlington House, London.

Avison Young’s Principal and UK Managing Director, Jason Sibthorpe, will be chairing the event which brings together Corporate Real Estate (CRE) executives from across the UK.

Jason comments: “Our PDF members are consistently asking for our views on the effect on emerging technologies on the real estate industry. For this, our eleventh Forum, we have a stellar line up to answers those questions, including two well-respected real estate specialists who will guide us through the issues facing the CRE community in dealing with changes in technologies and workplaces.

“A feature of the PDF programme is the focus on providing solutions to real problems facing the membership. PDF delegates will leave with information and practical tips to use in their workplace, including how to succeed in the face of potential threat from artificial intelligence (AI).”

The PDF’s keynote speaker for the Summer event is Andrew Waller, Partner, Remit Consulting. Andrew is a chartered surveyor and strategic management consultant, with a background in property management, agency and property litigation. He is a published author of the book “IT for Property People” and co-author of the 2017 RICS sponsored report ‘The impact of Emerging Technologies on the Surveying Profession’.

Andrew works closely with individuals and companies finding innovative ways to improve their performance and reduce costs. Over his career he has advised numerous UK and international construction and real estate companies on business and technology strategies and improvement.

Neil Usher, Executive Consultant at Unispace, will also be presenting at the Forum. Neil is author of the recently published book ‘The Elemental Workplace’ – a manifesto to create a fantastic workplace in simple, practical and easy steps.

Neil’s project 'Sky Central', a 37,000m2 NIA new-build agile workplace facility for 3,500 people won a BCO ‘Best-of-the-Best’ award in 2017. The amenity-rich environment and leading-edge change programme challenged much industry practice and set a new benchmark for space people want to work in.

Prior to his time at Sky, he was General Manager of Group Property at Rio Tinto, and he has also held roles at Honeywell, Warner Bros. and Polygram. Neil’s blog workessence.com includes his thoughts on the future of property and the workplace.
