Avison Young appointed to sell historic Dudson site

12 June 2019

Avison Young has been appointed to sell the former home of historic pottery maker Dudson Limited in Stoke-on-Trent.

Joint administrators Matthew Hammond and Ross Connock of PwC have appointed Avison Young’s national restructuring solutions team, led by Chris Davies, to find a purchaser for the freehold industrial complex, which extends to a total of 290,000 sq ft.

The 9.4 acre site has seen early interest from occupiers and developers, with the site offering substantial redevelopment potential, subject to planning permission.

Dudson had been making fine china, glassware and tableware since 1800, before it fell into administration earlier this year.

Chris Davies, Avison Young, said: “This is a highly prominent site, fronting the A50 and a short distance from Tunstall town centre and there remains a shortage of freehold industrial premises as well as developments sites of this nature across the region.

“The property presents a rare opportunity to acquire a substantial landholding in a central location and it is likely to appeal to a range of end users, with early interest already having been received.

“We are pleased to be assisting the Administrators in the maximisation of value from the freehold property holding of the company and invite any interested parties to make contact with us as soon as possible.”
