Advising on the repurposing and regeneration of the 162 ha Alderley Park site from single occupancy by Astra Zeneca to multiple occupancy by a mix of life-science related businesses since its acquisition by Manchester Science Partnerships, a joint venture between Bruntwood, Cheshire East Council and other public sector partners. We prepared a Development Framework an Masterplan for the site which paved the way for a hybrid planning application (supported by an Environmental Statement) for up to 275 new homes, new and repurposed life science floor space, leisure and recreation facilities, and retail and restaurant uses whilst capturing the heritage and characteristics of the former country estate and parkland setting. The project team has been acknowledged for its exemplary regeneration work on this project, having been presented with an RTPI North West Planning Excellence award in 2016. Avison Young continues to act as Lead Planning Advisor on the site.
