UK’s newest Courtyard by Marriott Hotel opens at Luton Airport

1 mai 2019

We were delighted to attend the recent launch of Luton Airport’s latest hotel and the seventh Courtyard by Marriott in the UK.

The 250 bedroom hotel was developed by Molo Hotels (formerly known as Polcom Developments) supported by feasibility advice from Avison Young’s Hotel Consultancy team.

This is a very smart, contemporary hotel and an exciting development for UK’s fifth largest airport, and one of the fastest growing. The Direct Air Rail Transit link to the airport terminal is currently under construction and plans for a second terminal have been announced recently. These proposals seek to increase the number of passengers from 18m to 32m annually.

The development is Molo’s second hotel in the UK (using bespoke modular design and build processes, with bedrooms constructed in Gdansk) and is part of a wider strategy to develop a worldwide portfolio of hotels. They have recently commenced construction at Inverness Airport, and have confirmed plans for a dual branded product in Liverpool city centre. Molo are also actively pursuing a number of projects in the Caribbean.

We touched base with Molo Hotels’ Managing Director Ross Morrow who said “We are delighted to have opened our second hotel in such a strong market, supporting the local economy and reinforcing our relationship with both Marriott and RBH Management. We are grateful for the continued support of Avison Young’s hotel consultancy team in assisting to bring our vision to fruition.”

Avison Young were delighted to be involved with the project from start to finish and wish Ross and the team all the best for the future.
