1,003 volunteers across Avison Young’s UK offices participated in charitable activities to give back to their local communities

On 24th October, Avison Young’s UK offices participated in a full day of volunteering activities. The initiative was part of the firm’s sixth annual global Day of Giving, which saw employees in approximately 100 Avison Young offices volunteering at more than 80 community organizations in Europe, Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.

In total, Avison Young’s volunteers were involved in 40 projects throughout 16 UK cities. The day’s activities were well-received by the participating charities and organisations, which included Birmingham Children’s Hospital, the Marine Conservation Society, British Heart Foundation and the Woodland Trust. Avison Young staff worked on a variety of tasks, ranging from litter clearing and wildlife conservation to packing products at a food bank.

Feedback from Avison Young employees mirrored the day’s success:

“It was just a privilege to be involved in this project and I would do it all again tomorrow.”

“The day was good fun, hard work and emotional and so worthwhile.”

“It was heart-warming to see the different types of events being undertaken around the country – I just felt proud to work for Avison Young.”

Chris Whetstone, Corporate Responsibility Manager, said:
“I would like to say a big thank you to all our volunteers who helped make our Day of Giving a success in so many great ways. Our colleagues cleaned parks, beaches, undertook conservation work and built new gardens in schools and community centres. I want to take this time to personally thank you for all your hard work and assistance.”
