GVA brings land for new South Gloucestershire homes to market

09 November 2018

GVA has been appointed by Homes England to bring a 1.9 acre site in South Gloucestershire to market. The site, in Yate town centre, has planning consent for 45 new homes.

Formerly the site of the North Avon Magistrates Court that closed in 2016, Homes England purchased the site and subsequently demolished the building ready for development.

Outline planning consent for 45 new homes has already been obtained by GVA’s planning team for the land at Kennedy Way, which comes with a requirement for at least 35% affordable housing. The property adviser is now marketing the site, and is inviting offers from developers by 10th December 2018.

Dan Rich, Senior Surveyor at GVA in Bristol, says, “The site lies in the heart of Yate town, with good access to retail and leisure amenities, and to road, rail and transport links.

“Homes England identified the brownfield site as one with the potential to be brought forward for residential-led development. Being close to the transport network, adjacent to Yate Shopping Centre, as well as local employment opportunities, new homes built on this site will be at the centre of the Yate community.

“It is a perfectly situated site that will help deliver much needed homes for this area.”

The site is for sale by informal tender with offers invited on an unconditional basis only, subject to s106.
