Avison Young welcomes new Director to London office leasing team

Global commercial real estate advisor Avison Young has appointed Steve Lydon as a Director in its London office leasing team.
Since 2023, Lydon has been based in Singapore, working as a General Manager at Millennium Group, operating across investment, asset management and property management, with a focus on driving Asian capital into London.
With over a decade of experience in London’s agency and capital markets, including roles at Lambert Smith Hampton and Allsop, he brings extensive expertise in leasing assets across the City, Midtown and Southbank. He has also acted on behalf of major clients including British Land, Dorrington and AXA.
A core part of his role at Avison Young will be to build and strengthen relationships with Asian investors who hold London assets or are actively looking to invest. His appointment comes at a time when overseas capital is showing renewed appetite for larger lot sizes in London, with Asian investors playing a significant role in recent high-value transactions.
Avison Young’s most recent Central London Office Analysis reported that Asian investors accounted for a 25% share of Q1 2026 transactions, with notable acquisitions including Daibiru Corporation’s £300m stake in Mitsubishi’s Warwick Court and Sinar Mas’ £131.8m purchase of Burberry’s headquarters, Horseferry House.
James Walker, Head of London Office Leasing at Avison Young, said:
“We’re seeing continued and meaningful interest from overseas investors in London, with Asian investors accounting for a significant share of London transactions so far this year. Against that backdrop, it’s fantastic to have Steve join and continue the growth of our London Leasing team. He brings not only well-established relationships across key Asian markets, but also a strong understanding of both investor requirements and the London leasing landscape.
“That combination of international connectivity and local market expertise will be incredibly valuable as we continue to support clients and capitalise on evolving investment trends across London.”
Steve Lydon, Director, London Leasing at Avison Young, added:
“I’m delighted to be joining Avison Young’s London office leasing team at a time when the market is seeing steady activity from overseas capital. Asian investment continues to form a significant part of that picture, with investors targeting prime assets.
“Having spent the past few years working closely with investors across the APAC region, I’ve built strong relationships and a clear understanding of their priorities. I’m looking forward to bringing that insight to the team, working collaboratively to support clients and further strengthen our offer in a competitive market.”
