Obtained planning permission for major extensions and new facilities at the prestigious golf and leisure resort at The Mere, near Knutsford in Cheshire. Amongst a range of enhancements, the plans include 64 new bedroom suites; enlargement of the conference and banqueting facilities to increase their capacity to 950 guests and remodelling of reception areas, restaurants, external terraces and additions to the hotel spa, all to be carried out within the resort’s expansive Green Belt setting. This application and green Belt policy required “very special circumstances” to be demonstrated.
