Avison Young appoints new Director to Building and Project Consultancy team in Newcastle

Global commercial real estate advisor Avison Young has appointed Kathryn Gardner as a Director in its Building and Project Consultancy team in Newcastle. Kathryn joins the firm from K2 Consultancy, where she was responsible for leading and growing the North East business.

Kathryn’s broad experience includes managing high-profile projects worth up to £5bn across sectors including data centres, manufacturing, highways and rail. Prior to her role at K2, Kathryn was a Regional Director at Atkins Realis, acting as the client lead for the Teesworks programme. With 25 years of experience in delivering projects in Teesside, Kathryn brings with her exceptional knowledge of the local market and the opportunities for strategic development.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Kathryn is also a Board Director at Constructing Excellence North East and chairs the Value Theme group. The group’s aim is to shift the industry focus from lowest cost to longer-term value outcomes through influencing client leadership, procurement practices and fostering collaborative behaviours.

She joins Avison Young’s 220-strong national Building and Project Consultancy platform, a multidisciplinary team of building consultants, project managers, engineers, architects and surveyors specialising in simplifying complex challenges across all stages of commercial real estate projects.

Kathryn’s role will see her supporting the team in developing further opportunities in the public and private sectors across the North East, bringing her market knowledge and expertise to drive forward the firm’s activity in the Tees Valley.
