Avison Young names Head of Hotel Capital Markets

Global commercial real estate advisor Avison Young has appointed Govinda Singh as its new Head of Hotel Capital Markets, marking the creation of a new specialist service line tailored to the unique dynamics of the hotel investment market.
Govinda brings a wealth of experience in capital markets advisory for the hotel and hospitality sectors, having spent more than ten years in leadership roles in Singapore, including leading the APAC Hotel Capital Markets teams at both Colliers and Cushman & Wakefield.
A senior executive with experience of leading and building out growth platforms both locally and globally, Govinda has advised owners and operators, developers, sovereign wealth funds, REITs, high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors on deploying their capital into real estate markets across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the UK and the US.
Govinda arrives at Avison Young as the firm continues to build a distinct, market-leading offer for its UK Capital Markets platform, with a focus on deepening its sector expertise to provide clients with broader market access, tailored investment solutions and best-in-class advisory support.
Meanwhile, Jordan Alexander has also been appointed as an Associate Director in the firm’s Debt Advisory team. Having most recently served as a Senior Analyst at Zenzic Capital, he brings extensive living sector experience, including in co-living, PBSA and BTR investment, and has supported numerous transactions across the UK and Europe.
The announcement of Govinda and Jordan’s appointments follows the arrival of Richard Day in January 2026 as Head of Debt Advisory and Graham Barnes in April 2026 as Head of Corporate Finance, as well as the promotion of Guy Spencer to Head of National Capital Markets.
Avison Young’s continued investment in top-tier talent highlights its ongoing commitment to scaling its Capital Markets platform, positioning the business to capitalise on evolving investor demand and emerging opportunities across multiple asset classes.
Chris Pilgrim, Principal, Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets UK at Avison Young, said:
“As global markets continue to shift, it is critical that we invest in the right people to deepen our insight, enhance our execution and maintain a competitive edge. Building a high-calibre team is central to our strategy, enabling us to respond with agility to changing conditions.
“These new hires form part of a broader focus on strengthening our capability at a senior level, ensuring we have the expertise and leadership required to drive sustained growth and deliver consistently strong outcomes for our clients, while continuing to unlock new opportunities.”
Govinda Singh, Head of Hotel Capital Markets at Avison Young, added:
“The hotel sector continues to present compelling opportunities for investors, particularly as strategies become more focused and capital more selective. My priority is to build a clear, execution-driven platform that helps clients navigate this and act with confidence.
“By working closely with colleagues across the business, I’ll be creating a strong, differentiated offering that is well positioned to support a wide range of investment objectives and drive the sustained growth of Avison Young’s Capital Markets platform.”
Jordan Alexander, Associate Director, Debt Advisory at Avison Young, added:
“The debt advisory landscape is evolving and it’s more important than ever that investors have access to credible, tailored advice to unlock the right financing opportunities. My focus will be on working closely with clients and colleagues to navigate this complexity, bringing a structured and disciplined approach to each transaction.
“With the breadth of expertise we have in the team, we’re firmly equipped to continue to level up our support for clients across the UK and internationally, providing responsive advice across a wide range of financing scenarios.”
